Lux or Akali?

I'm almost at the 3150 IP mark (again) and I was wondering which one of those I should buy.
I love akali and I played her alot this week, with a huge amount of success, but Lux seems so fun and i'd really love to play her.
Your thoughts?

Lux is fun and challenging to play. I'd say Lux, didn't really get the hang of Akali.

Tough one.
Lux has a rather high skill cap but is a really good adition to almost any team you can imagine.
She is also fun to play (laz0r) and gives you a feeling of being in control if you can handle her well.
She has really nice farming and a very spamable ultimate that is so much fun to shoot at people every 24 seconds
Her passive is good for harrasing and thus she has an rather strong laning phase, especially in the end of that as she has gotten some equipment so you can harass and snipe most opponents.
Akali is also rather hard to play if the enemy are good. On lower levels of play she is a pubstomber, but on higher levels she is still quite good.
As you already tried her, I wont ellaborate
I would say Lux as she is the most fun imo, but Akali is great fun too, so you might put the one you do not get this time around on the top of your champ priority list.

After testing lux I decided to buy akali. Even though i'm OK with lux, i'm awesome with akali

Lux takes time to learn. She seems pretty straight forward (and she is) but to maximize her effectiveness it takes some practice
