Riot got the wrong focus?

With this new champion coming out, Karma, we will have a total of 69 champions according to their own website.

I`ve seen countless of threads complaining about just this matter. "No more champ! Give us maps!" etc. etc. and the normal response would be "Riot got the champion making team making champions and the map making team making maps" and I agree, that`s how I`t should be.

But I`m starting to belive that they have too much money in the champions making team compared to any other team. 2 weeks isn`t nearly enough to make and balance a new champion to the other 68 champions, and the next one to the soon to be 69 champions. I`m thinking they got more people making champions than in the other divisions combined.

We have all seen that the servers are broken, no replay, no spectate, no mods and the activity on the forums is far from enough, that`s why amongst other reason this forum came to existance and have alot of features that the official LoL forums don`t (avatars, signature, post count, reputation, search function and an active admin).

Your thoughts?

all the things you mentioned are harder to make than champions. champs is how they pay the teams, and the promise of new things keeps people playing.

I see your point, but woulnt this destroy the game in the long run? If they continue like this we would have 100 champs by next january, this makes it harder and harder for new people to get into the game.

Champions make RP, maps don't. That's the logic behind what they're doing. And yeah, it'll hurt the game in the long run, but online games don't have to last long to make a shitload of cash.

Don't worry, making too many champions will end up with Riot being hit by Karma.

I wish that they'd spend more money fixing the servers, I might just not buy RP if the lag continues.

Also, I might buy Karma if she's a support champion.

Well, maps take time to balance, champs dont take as much time, and theres always patches!

Hopefully these server problems are going to get less frequent. Word has it that they are now looking into the massive problems that have been with the european servers.
