MUNDO - Played the correct way
Dr. Mundo is a tough dps. That means he's hard to take down & still deals heavy damage. He's not supposed to be a full offtank, doing so will hurt your team more than you think.
If I really need to tell what his abilities does, your knowledge about champions needs to be extended. You can check him here, aswell as other champions you don't own.
With Mundo, you want to solo lane if possible.
Runepage:
There is no exception. This is by far the best runeset for Mundo.
Marks - Crit chance
Seals - Health per level
Glyphs - Cooldown
Quints - Movement speed or crit chance.
Masteries:
12/16/2
Summoner Spells:
Ghost + Exhaust.
Right now Exhaust is way better than ignite due to the ability damage reduction, ghost is a must have together with your quints & ultimate.
Skill leveling:
This is the most easy part of Mundo.
Start by leveling your Infected Cleaver (Q).
At level 2, get your Masochism (E).
After that, it's all about the enemies.
A lot of squishies? Level your Masochism over the cleaver.
A lot of high life stacking champions (Chogath etc.)? Level your Cleaver over Masichism.
If they're balanced, I tend to max Cleaver first, simply because you rely on being near them.
At level 4, always pick Burning Agony, then let it be the last thing you level.
Buying items:
You are a tough dps. Always look what your enemies are buying (ad or ap?).
However there is a core setup.
Start with dorans shield, boots of speed or regrowth pendant + health potions.
Use your cleaver to last hit minions. Don't harass enemies with it.
At the 15 minute mark, you should have 100 minion kills. I'd say 70 is acceptable, anything over 100 is a goodjob for you.
You should never leave your lane due to your ultimate.
On your first trip back, buy Warmog's Armor.
Keep lasthitting as you need the warmog to be done quickly, but the gold is also neccessary.
Aim for Boots of speed + Spirit Visage then, after done so you can buy following:
Mercury threads due to synergi with your Burning Agony, or Boots of Lucidity for the cooldown reduction. (note that you should always pick boots sooner if you feel like you need it)
You should have enough magic resist if you picked spirit visage aswell as mercury threads, but if you need magic resist (check enemies items) then buy a Banshee's Veil. On Mundo, you want as much HP as possible, so your ultimate will heal more over less seconds. If you don't need magic resist, go for Atma's Impaler. You should have 30+ % crit chance now, which is very good together with your Masochism.
Games should end there, but there's a few items I'll mention:
Guardian Angel works with your ult, even if you die, you will come up with full hp.
Purchasing a phantom dancer as the last item will grant you great movement speed, attack speed & crit chance.
Frozen Mallet gives great HP (atma's + ult), slows the target & adds small damage. This is by far my favourite pick endgame.
What to do ingame:
Tank the tower for your DPS.
Aim for their carries, cleaver + E + W = they're dead.
If they manage to escape, exhaust + ghost + ultimate is at your advantage.
You're not a tank, so going first is not a good idea unless you're the only one with high resistances.
The faster you level, the more dangerous you are.
WATCH OUT FOR IGNITES, GANGPLANK, KATARINA, MISS FORTUNE, TRISTANA & EXECUTIONERS CALLING. It will reduce your ult healing by A LOT.

If you just get their carry, you will be able to carry your team.

Imho you should prioritize cleaver over everything (except ult). It deals massive damage, about 23% of total hp, no? Pretty much a free DFG every 2 seconds.

However it won't go though units.
You will never hit the squishies with it unless they aren't behind their tanks (which they should be).
If I'm on a solo lane I level it to 3, then max Masochism.

Re: MUNDO - Played the correct way
Well, running to them and hiting them melee isn't really safe either. Imo everything in this game is situational, one build, skill leveling and / or playstyle usually won't win two different team comp games, the player should adapt (inb4 seeing a Rammus buying thornmail against a caster team, and responding with "thornmail best item for rammus stfu noob" -_-').
So yes, it matters about the enemies. I wouldn't level Masochism against a tank team on 3v3 (that I play the most). Cleaver deals % damage, so it's pretty much the same against anyone.

Which is explained here:
A lot of squishies? Level your Masochism over the cleaver.
A lot of high life stacking champions (Chogath etc.)? Level your Cleaver over Masichism.
